Attorney John Mismas is a native son of Ohio and a former Teamster. John is also a nationally known Plaintiffs asbestos litigator. Never worried about a good fight, and willing to take on the most challenging cases. John has taken on numerous fortune five hundred companies. From big tobacco to big oil, John takes them all on. He has secured a number of seven figure settlements for his clients. As a nationally known asbestos litigator he has been invited to speak at plaintiffs’ litigation conferences. He has prosecuted cases in Delaware, Ohio, Texas, and Illinois to name a few states. John has also argued numerous appeals, and has argued on behalf of an asbestos victim in the Ohio Supreme Court. He is licensed in Ohio, the Federal Courts in the Northern District of Ohio and the Southern District of Ohio. John believes in putting people over corporate profits, and fights for the individual. He is very selective in the cases he actually takes each year.
John received his undergraduate degree from Kent State University, earning a B.S. in Education. He earned his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law, where he was on the moot court team.
Before starting the Mismas Law Firm, John worked at a large Plaintiffs’ asbestos law firm in the Cleveland area where he ran the firm’s asbestos docket.
John is the son of a retired Cleveland police officer, and is heavily involved in helping police officers who have been killed or injured in the line of duty. He has also sponsored events for the Cleveland Food Bank, and is involved with the Lake County Humane Society.
John lives in Willoughby, Ohio with his wife Candice, who is a special education teacher.
